Can I do PhD online or through distance learning?
No. Under current UGC rules PhD is not permitted in online or distance mode, so a valid PhD has to be a regular, on-campus programme. Be careful of anyone offering it online.
What is the eligibility for PhD?
Master’s degree with 55% (50% reserved) or a four-year UG with research; entrance / NET. Individual universities may set higher cut-offs or an entrance test.
How long is PhD?
PhD takes 3 to 6 years.
